One Jazz
Websites. Plural. DNS Nightmares.

You might’ve already seen smatterings of jazz around here, and we’re back with some more, whether you like it or not. I’m going to say that you think you don’t like it but you probably do. Because jazz is kind of anything that’s unconventional isn’t it, really? Don’t get me wrong, I love the standard 4/4 pop song as much as the next person, but sometimes you just need to have something mind-bendingly complicated, don’t you?
For this, we’ve got websites times two. Completely separate builds encompassing the standard One Jazz website and then their online shop. The reason for this was to keep the riff-raff from the important people. Ok, that’s not really what I mean. One Jazz is a digital radio station but operates slightly differently, in the sense that there’s a kind of open door policy, running off the altruism of volunteers. With that in mind, the schedule changes from week to week and new shows and contributors are rife.
So we decided to keep the editorial separate from the commerce, with all customer accounts kept away from staff ones. As mixing them all together would just get messy.
I mention DNS trouble at the top but I don’t think I can bring myself to go through the trauma of explaining it all. Sometimes encountering something mind-bendingly complicated ruins your life, doesn’t it?
