Marketing Week Awards 2025

Printing, Digitaling. Will Market for Awards.

Ok, so this one was fairly standard fare on the production for an event – you’ve got your logos and your general artistic direction and such. You need a PDF here for this pillar, you’ve got this lectern with unorthodox dimensions to cover off here and you need a last minute A4 to to pin to this door there, fine. That’s what I’m here to do. Thank you. You’re welcome.

However, the journey for the MWA (which I’d worked on many times before) is and always has been the programme. Multiple pages, shifting amounts of text. Amends? You bet your fucking arse there are amends. And the problem with this is that you can’t have award categories and their nominees spilling onto other pages. So in some instances you’re trying to squeeze lots of info into limited space, in others you’re trying to pad out pages with insufficient material in order to make it seem consistent.

If you’re limited to 24 pages and have got it all fine-tuned to fit perfectly, one single amend can throw everything off and suddenly you’re rearranging the whole thing. But, you know. You’ve got to make it work, somehow.

I mean, the table plan is a nightmare also, but that’s largely because of the volume of attendees. Who I obviously hate if they’re late additions and not in alphabetical order. Bastards.

I’ve not made it sound like fun, have I? It was honestly not that bad. Lovely people to deal with. And even that sounds sarcastic now. Honestly.
